Memorial Day Festivities

I always love Memorial Day weekend. First and foremost it is the kickoff to SUMMER! Yay! Anyone who knows me, knows I love the pool and the sun and everything about summer. Luckily my son has inherited this trait as well, and I married a man who's favorite season is summer.
On Sunday we had a cookout at my parents' house with the whole family. We swam, grilled, and hung out. It was great! Then Monday we started our day at the Grove City Memorial Day Parade. Later that day we did some mulching and planted some flowers. Then just played in the yard with Mason. It was a great weekend spent with family, there's nothing better than that!
Ready to go!

A Day Out With Thomas

For Mason's birthday, we had bought him tickets for "A Day Out With Thomas." So Saturday we headed up toward Cleveland to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad to see and ride on the REAL Thomas the Train! Mason was so excited to go and was a pretty good travel companion. It was a 2hr 20min. drive. He slept for about an hour and 15 min. on the way there and the drive wasn't too bad.

Once we arrived we had a little over an hour until our train ride boarded. We walked around to the different activity and vendor tents to check things out. We then boarded Thomas for a 25 minute scenic train ride. Mason thought it was great and was telling Thomas to go "faster!" We wrapped things up with a few more activities and purchased a souvenier balloon. By the way it was hot as all get out Saturday and we could not wait for the airconditioned drive home. I really thought Mason would pass out on the way home, but I think he was too excited. He did actually doze off about 10 minutes from home. It was a fun family day and we took lots of pictures to share!
