Happy 3rd Birthday Mason!

On Saturday April 11th, 2009, Mason Jared Hollingsworth turned 3 years old! I cannot believe how fast it has gone, kind of bittersweet. Mason has brought so much joy into our lives. He makes us laugh constantly and melts our hearts daily. He is a sweet little boy who is kind hearted and polite. Keith and I are so proud to be his parents. We'd like to share some of the photos we took at his birthday celebration.
The "Happy Birthday" I worked so hard on was
my pride and joy!

Austin's 3rd Birthday Party

Saturday was such a fun day! After waking up and doing some housework, Mason and I went out back and played for a while. Later in the afternoon we attended my best friend, Nikki's little boy, Austin's, birthday party. Austin turned 3 as Mason will next weekend. Nikki and I were pregnant together and our boys are 6 days apart! So fun! Mason and Austin are "best friends" as Mason was telling me last night, and wants to know when we are going back to Austin's house?! I sufficed him by letting him know Austin will be coming to his birthday party next weekend. He was okay with that. Below are some pictures we took on Saturday.
This is just a potty shot that I couldn't resist!

Playing in our backyard.

I asked Mason to make a funny face.

be pregnant or both be skinny. Not one of each!

Austin would say "look Mason", each time he opened a gift.
And Mason would reply, "That's sooo cool!" It was
cracking us up!
Mason loves these little cars! Our neighbors have one,
and then he found this one at Austin's house.

Kendi's Baby Shower

Yesterday I was delighted to attend one of my best friends from high school's baby shower. Kendi and I were inseperable for several years during and shortly after high school. Throughout college and thereafter we have drifted apart. It gets hard, she lives in Michigan and we both have our own lives and families. So, I was so happy to see her yesterday. I hadn't seen her since my baby shower for Mason! Kendi and her husband are expecting their first baby, a boy also, on May 26th. Below is a picture of Kendi and I at the shower. She just turned 8 months and I am 5 1/2 months.

Our Baby Boy Has A Name!

After much debate our growing munchkin has a name! I have had several names in mind since I got pregnant. Then Keith vetoed my top three names! So I pulled out the backup list, and he didn't like any of those either! Meanwhile he brought no names to the table. So I was starting to feel as if this little boy would be nameless because we simply couldn't agree.

My freind from work, Karen, brought me a baby name book that she picked up at the library. Thanks Karen! I sat down a week ago Friday evening after Mason was in bed and Keith was at work and started reading this book. It was filled with over 50,000 baby names! A little intimidating. Out of the thousands of names I came up with 5. That's it ... 5! And out of the 5, I only really really liked one! So what if Keith didn't like that one!?! I texted the names to Keith, and my best friend Nikki (on accident, I thought I was texting Keith)! Nikki liked the same name I did, yay! So it was up to Keith. He later texted me saying he liked the name. Yay again! Was the search over? That night when Keith got home from work I asked him, "Do we have a name?" "Yeah, I like it" he said. I was thrilled! And honestly I'm glad it worked out this way and we went the way we did because I'm really happy with the name we chose.

So, without further ado! Baby boy #2's name will be Braden! Mason and Braden, too cute! I can't wait to meet this little munchkin.

IT'S A .....

This afternoon we met with Dr. Shepherd for my 20 week ultrasound. She was checking the baby's development and we were able at this point to find out the sex of the baby if we wanted. There was no question about that! These are things I need to know to be properly prepared for my munchkin's arrival! I didn't have a feeling one way or the other whether it was a boy or girl, but I will say this pregnancy has been totally different than my first. So with that being said, Keith, Mason, and I are proud to announce we are expecting a ... BOY! We are so happy and undoubtedly excited to add another boy to our family! I love being a "boy mom" and this baby will fit right in.

We've Been Busy!

I feel as if I haven't blogged in forever! We have been so busy the past two weeks. We closed on our house and immediately went to work. My amazing husband Keith spent an entire week painting. Painting is such a time consuming project. Between spackling, sanding, taping, priming, and actually painting (walls and ceilings), it has been quite a large project. We are in the process of painting every room and ceiling in the entire house! We moved in last weekend and are slowly getting organized. As much as I want to get things done, I have been told I need to take it easy and not do to much. I need to rest and relax and things will eventually get done. I think by the end of this upcoming weekend we should be pretty well settled and it will be looking more like a home. Well that's it for now, I've got laundry to fold.

18 Weeks Pregnant

I'm now 18 weeks pregnant and showing enough to do a "photo shoot." I think I only have two or three pregnancy pictures from Mason (5, 6, and 9 months). Not wanting to let time slip away from me, I did a photo shoot at work today with Karen and AnnMarie. So here I am in all my glory at 4 1/2 months with baby #2! Hope belly shots don't gross anyone out!

Check out this contraption!
Well, at least my normal size pants STILL fit,
I just need some belly room!

A Relaxing Weekend

Mason was all about his sleeping bag this weekend.

Going to the potty while reading a book,
and having a snack! What can I say,
he's a boy!

Colton not so sure about a
kiss from his cousin.

So happy!

Two Weeks and Counting!

Finally! We will close on our new house at the end of this week and get the keys. We are so grateful that my grandma has opened her home to us and even let us extend our stay, but we are definitely ready to have our own space again, and I'm sure she is too! After getting the keys, we will go in and clean and do some painting that first week. We are going to actually move in March 7th & 8th. We are so excited and cannot wait to start this new chapter in our lives. Our first home!

Potty Training

This adventure is well overdue! Mason will be three in April and potty training is our focus right now. We have dabbled with it off and on, but with busy schedules I've just been putting it off. Plus Mason has had NO interest in it, which makes training alot harder. I knew he was ready, so I decided that this weekend it would be our focus. Well, I'm happy to report that Mason has done extremely well so far today. He has gone pee pee on the potty four times and only had one accident! I am so proud of my little boy! He is getting to be such a BIG BOY!

Happy 30th Birthday AnnMarie!

Tonight my coworkers and I went to dinner to celebrate our dear friend AnnMarie's 30th Birthday. These girls are some of my best friends. I am blessed to work with such an amazing group of girls! These gals make work fun everyday and we share so many laughs together. We had so much fun tonight spending time together. AnnMarie, I hope you enjoyed yourself this evening! You were with close friends, ate great food, and opened some amazing gifts ... especially the purse!
There is also a pregnancy craze going around our office! It must be in the water!? Pictured below, Deborah (is 7 months, she's holding Leah), Vanessa (is 4 1/2 months), Me (I'm 4 months), and Sara (Not Pictured, is 5 1/2 months). Crazy!

Mason's First Basketball Game

Last night my mom and I took Mason up to the school to watch Uncle Chad referee a basketball game for the children's league. Mason was so excited all day to go to the game and would not stop talking about it! We met Aunt Teri and Uncle Tony who were going up to watch the game too. Mason ran around the court tossing the ball to Uncle Chad before the game started. Then it was time for the game to start ... oh no! Mason wanted to play ball with the kids! He cried saying "my turn!" Eventually he understood we had to sit and watch the kids play. He clapped when they scored and yelled "what's that noise?", everytime the buzzer would go off at the end of a quarter. At halftime he got to go out on the court again and play with Uncle Chad. It was a fun night and we will be taking Mason back again soon. I also got to see some old classmates from High School whose kids were playing in the games, so that was fun too!
